Born in 1962 in Tokyo, Takashi Murakami is a cultural powerhouse, regarded as the Andy Warhol of Japan. He coined the term Superflat to describe his visual style.

In 2001, Murakami launched the Superflat movement, a groundbreaking art theory rooted in post-war Japanese culture, anime, and consumerism.
