Moco Museum Amsterdam is home to one of the world's most impressive collections of street art and urban culture. Located on Museumplein, in the heart of Amsterdam's museum district, Moco bridges the gap between the street and the gallery.
As a street art museum in Amsterdam that can be explored indoors, Moco presents:
- •Political and satirical stencil art by Banksy
- •Neo-expressionist works rooted in graffiti culture
- •Urban artists who moved from the street to global recognition
- •Art that explores protest, humour, and social commentary
Banksy Exhibition at Moco Museum Amsterdam
The permanent Banksy exhibition features over 50 original works by the world's most famous anonymous artist, including iconic pieces like Girl with Balloon, Laugh Now, and Flower Thrower. These works challenge power, question authority, and capture the rebellious spirit of street art.
Experiencing Banksy's work often means travelling across multiple cities or encountering pieces that disappear as quickly as they appear. At Moco Museum Amsterdam, visitors can see a curated selection of Banksy's works in one place – indoors, accessible, and thoughtfully presented.
From Graffiti to Gallery: Urban Icons at Moco
Beyond Banksy, explore works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose neo-expressionist paintings brought the raw energy of New York's downtown scene into the fine art world. Keith Haring's bold lines and social messages continue to resonate with new generations of art lovers.
The collection also features contemporary street artists like KAWS, Icy & Sot, Stik, and Frankey, whose bronze sculptures challenge our relationship with the planet through surreal miniature worlds.
From raw symbolism to bold line work, from stencil to canvas, the exhibitions at Moco connect street art's roots with contemporary relevance.
Why Moco Is a Leading Street Art Museum in Amsterdam
What makes Moco Museum one of the most talked-about street art museums in Amsterdam is not imitation of the street, but thoughtful transformation.
As a street art museum in Amsterdam, Moco offers:
- •Indoor access to urban icons – Experience street art without depending on neighbourhood routes or weather.
- •Authentic works – Over 50 verified Banksy originals and works by Basquiat, Haring, KAWS, and more.
- •A central location – Situated on Museumplein, easily accessible for visitors exploring the museum district.
- •A broader cultural lens – Street art placed in dialogue with modern and contemporary art.
Amsterdam's outdoor street art scene evolves constantly. Murals are painted over. Stencils fade. Inside the museum, street art is preserved with museum-level care, allowing visitors to experience works that might otherwise be lost to time or weather.
Whether you're a lifelong street art enthusiast or discovering urban art for the first time, Moco Museum Amsterdam offers an immersive journey through one of the most important artistic movements of our time.

The Moco Museum is one of our favorite places to visit in Amsterdam! It's smaller than some of the big museums in the city, which actually makes it perfect for a quick and enjoyable visit without feeling rushed. The space is beautifully designed with so many cute and creative photo spots.

Nice modern museum and Moco Amsterdam is the second Moco we visited after the one in Barcelona. I recommend it, and our kids loved the modern / contemporary art more than the classic style museums.

Today's visit to the Moco Museum in Amsterdam was a highlight of our trip. Housed in a beautiful townhouse just off Museumplein, Moco manages to blend history and rebellion, elegance and disruption, all under one quirky roof.
